The American magazine Fast Company has presented its ranking of the most innovative companies in 2018. It is noteworthy that Apple received only the 17th place in the list, but only a year ago the company held the first place. This time, the ranking was led by Chinese company Meituan Dianping, which combines several services at once: restaurant search, hotel booking, food ordering and goods.
In total, the list contains approximately 50 companies. According to the magazine, Apple’s major innovation in 2018 was the Apple A12 processor – the industry’s first chip made on a 7-nanometer process. But despite this, the company lost 16 positions on the list.
In 2017, Apple was more successful – the company topped the list of the most innovative companies in the world. This success was achieved thanks to the timely release of the groundbreaking iPhone X wireless headphones and AirPods. Admittedly, the company was unable to maintain its leadership position.
According to experts, 2018 was a failure for Apple – we didn’t get to see something truly innovative. Interestingly, such tech giants as Google, Huawei and Samsung were completely off the list.
